Guest teachers and students of the Mount Dora School of Ballet were honored with a visit from community leaders.  Cathy Hoechst, President of the Mount Dora Chamber of Commerce; Leslie Campione, Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners; and Robert Thielhelm, Sr., Mayor of Mount Dora welcomed guest teachers and students to the Mount Dora School of Ballet 2012 Summer Workshop.  “Visiting with the students during their summer workshop was awesome!” said Cathy Hoechst.  “The dancers were watching and listening to their teachers so intently, they quickly learned the correct technique.  It was obvious that they were enjoying their classes.”

Kathryn Wheeler, owner and Artistic Director of the school said that participation in the arts provides many wonderful life lessons.  Positive goal setting, strong work ethic, self-awareness, knowledge seeking, passion, a mental edge, self-confidence, appreciation for the arts are just a few of the benefits that dancers achieve.  You participate in an art form that is athletic, beautiful and absolute fun; and has the added benefit that it’s also very good for you.
